Happy Friday to you all,
I am currently in the process of creating an income tax calculator for Canada on a spreadsheet. I have so far completed the federal tax section; adding in the different provincial rates should not take too much longer as I can copy the structure of what I’ve already made for them, tweaking brackets where they need to be.
I realize this service is available all over the internet, but I made this just for the challenge of it (as it turns out, it isn’t very hard). Furthermore, this spreadsheet provides information about how much someone at a particular salary level pays in each individual bracket and what one’s average tax rate is.Again, they are not very hard to calculate normally, but they are still useful tidbits to have.
I have linked the sheet at the bottom of the page. To properly use this spreadsheet, I would recommend making a copy. This way, you will be able to customize different brackets and, using the same algorithm, see how one’s tax payable would change under differently structured income tax plans. At the same time, to receive all updates, whenever and if ever they come, keep checking back on the link.
Thanks for reading and have fun!
